On 31^st of March and 1^st of April 2008 the “official” start of the activities of the Twinning Project took place in the REPA headquarters in Bacau. The main stakeholders of the project participated, including  i) both Project Leaders (Mr. José Álvarez Díaz on behalf of Spain and Mr. Iulian Movila on behalf of Romania) plus the Dutch Coordinator, Mr. Herman Huisman, ii) a representative from FIIAPP (public Spanish body in charge of the financial management and part of the logistics), Mr. Pablo Ródenas, iii) the Resident Twinning Advisor (RTA), Mr. César Seoánez Erkell and his Counterpart, Mrs. Mihaela Ambarus, iv) representatives of most of the beneficiary institutions of the Twinning and v) the Resident Twinning Advisor of another Twinning Project  whose focus is on Industrial Waste Management, Mrs. Dorothea Frohn.

A presentation of the project by the Member States’ representatives, together with a presentation on several Romanian environmental structures by the RTA Counterpart and by the Director of the Intermediate Body for the Sectoral Operational Programme Environment in Region 1 – North-east, Mrs. Dana Bostan, were given, and can be downloaded together with the minutes. Apart from that, collaboration was established between our project and the one focused on Industrial Waste Management.
